Swimsafe

It's been a big week with Swimsafe. Well done Room 4 for your resilience walking to and from the pools each day, and a huge thanks to the mums and dads who came along and helped us. We can't do it without you :)
There was a lot of learning going on over the week, from going underwater, to how to be safe in the water.

Athletics Day!

What a fun day we had - running, jumping and throwing. Thanks to those parents who got to see us in action. Here are some pictures of the day.

PMP races

We have finished off PMP for this term with some relay races... putting together all the skills we have learnt this year. It has been great fun, and a HUGE thank you to the mums and dads who helped us out.

Lapathon

We have been training for Lapathon this week. It is really important to warm up properly, especially when the weather is a bit chilly.

Things that are taller than us...

We went for a walk around the playground to find things that were shorter and taller than us! Here are some of the things we found taller than us.

Reading activities

The Elephants are learning to use the iPad to find and write information about their books. 

    

                            

Measurement

Room 4 is starting their measurement unit. Here we are working out which is longer and shorter. We had to compare and sort the sizes and be able to recognise which side to stick the paper on.

Making teen numbers

 We have been learning that a teen  number is a group of 10 and then some extra ones. We have been practising making teen numbers with unifix cubes.

Making paper.

Room 4 and Room 5 made paper. We have been talking about recycling, and we were learning different ways we can recycle. Here are our instructions on making paper:

We tore the newspaper and put it in a bucket full of water.

                             

Then we put it in the blender. It looked like vomit!

                             

We squeezed the water out. We had paper and we had to dry it.

                             

Ice on the grass.

We went outside to look at the frost this morning. Then we did some super writing about it.
